WHAT IS AN EDUCATION FOUNDATION?
Education foundations are nonprofit organizations that support public school districts in meeting the needs of their students by funding programs that public budgets can’t cover and encouraging community involvement in public education.
WHY DOES SEQUOYAH INNOVATION ZONE NEED AN EDUCATION FOUNDATION?
Communities with local education foundations are better able to respond quickly to budget cuts and provide support for innovation that school budgets can’t fund.
Every day, in every region of our country, education foundation leaders are forging innovative partnerships to solve challenging issues facing public school students. We believe that the children of the Sequoyah Innovation Zone deserve the same - so we have created The Sequoyah Innovation Zone Education Foundation (SIZEF) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that will bring additional resources to our cluster.
WHO WILL THE FOUNDATION SERVE?
The Sequoyah Innovation Zone Education Foundation (SIZEF) will support the six schools that make up the zone cluster. All of the schools will benefit directly from the work of SIZEF and the current Steering Committee as well as the future Board of Directors will include representatives from all school communities.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We have received our nonprofit 501c3 status from the IRS and our SIZEF Steering Committee is busy laying the groundwork for our launch early in the 2025-2026 school year. We are seeking individuals and businesses to donate to our Founders’ Campaign.
